Our origin

It started with a stack of printed letters

Every semester, the same scene played out across Kenyan nursing schools. Coordinators spent days typing introduction letters for every student. Students queued to collect printed copies. Hospital supervisors received handwritten lists that were already outdated.

Logbooks went unsigned. Students arrived at hospitals that had no record of them. Some waited weeks to start. Others were sent to the wrong department. Coordinators spent more time on admin than on supporting students.

"This should not be this hard. Everything we are doing with paper and email — a proper system should handle in minutes."

That frustration became ClinPlacer. We built what we wished had existed — a platform that handles every step of clinical placement management online, from student assignment to NCK-ready audit trails, so coordinators can focus on education instead of paperwork.

2022

The problem identified

A conversation among nursing school coordinators about how much time was lost every semester on placement paperwork. Everyone had the same complaints. Nobody had a solution.

2023

First version built

ClinPlacer v1 launched with core placement assignment, hospital management, and basic reporting. First nursing school went fully paperless.

2024

NCK compliance & audit trail

Full compliance features added after working closely with school coordinators preparing for Nursing Council inspections. Audit trail, exportable reports, and fair rotation tracking.

2025

Zara AI launched

Zara, ClinPlacer's AI placement assistant, launched across all plans. Schools can now ask questions about their placements, get suggestions, and receive proactive alerts.
